Smile Delicious ways to eat sprouts

The best way to eat sprouts is raw in a salad or by themselves. Cooking significantly destroys the nutrients, particularly the vitamins so if you must cook do so lightly.
1. Put into a mixed salad of grated cucumber, carrot, some pomegranate or seasonal fruit, pineapple, lemon juice and a dish of black pepper to enhance the flavour.
2. Sprouts added to bhel or chat, along with grated cucumber and carrots not only taste good but this also cuts down the quantity of farsan and papdi added to the bhel.

I have never eaten sprouts raw. I admit that they are not my favorite vegetable and on the rare occasion that we do have them I always cook them with bacon. It takes the bitterness out of the sprouts, but it's not a very healthy way of doing things.

Well we used to eat this cooked medium rare then put it in a lumpia wrapper for some delicious lumpia that is sometimes eaten with ground pork with it. It's very yummy especially when it's fried.

I like making punjabi gravy with sprouts. Add thin sliced green onion, corriender & lemon juice on the gravy while serving with bread.

That does sound delicious Charu. I may have to try that gravy for myself. What else do you serve it with?

I put sprouts in my Pho sometimes.. it adds more flavor, plus I know they're good for me

I disagree completely with your statement that cooking significantly destroys the nutrients, particularly the vitamins. I am absolutely sure that there is the perfect example of the cuisine that does not destroy the nutrients and vitamins. I mean the chinese cuisine. It is the undeniable fact that the chinese cooks are preserving almost all nutrients and vitamins in the magnificent chinese dishes.
