Thumbs up Importance of cholesterol

We cannot do without cholesterol because the body needs it up to a certain level in order to:
 Help the absorption and transportation of fatty acids.
 When skin is exposed to sunlight, cholesterol and other related substances turn into active Vitamin D.
 Cholesterol is the raw material for many hormones – Vitamin D, the male and the female hormones and hormones of the adrenal cortex.

Since cholesterol is essential for all animal life, it is primarily synthesized from simpler substances within the body.*

I guess we don't have to take any conscious effort to intake cholesterol. where as high cholesterol is one of the major health concern in the world.

I never knew cholesterol had so much to do with everything that we do! That's pretty weird. Our bodies do so much for us on a daily basis and.. we really don't notice any of it!

Theres good cholesterol and bad cholesterol and its good ones that do all these work the bad cholesterol from saturated fat simply clogs up the arteries ...

I agree with you busy bee. A good level of cholesterol in our body is needed. Everything in moderation is the key to good health. Too much cholesterol from saturated fat will cause hi blood pressure.

I completely agree with your point of view as to the cholesterol. I am being platted when I am hearing the information about the harmfulness of the different foodstuffs. I am absolutely sure that the moderate consumption of all foods is the best method to keep the health in a perfect condition.

HDL cholesterol is the "good" cholesterol and LDL is the bad VLDL is VERY bad cholesterol.

There has been some research that suggests that refined sugars and refined grains actually cause our bodies to manufacture too much bad cholesterol.
