All of us need to eat, to go about our lives, to do our work to indulge in leisure activities and to even be in a good mood. Thought we eat different kinds of food all of us prefer to eat some specific items of food depending on our tastes .Most food items exempting those that come under the label “junk food” are healthy and beneficial to our body. That said let me forewarn you all that anything in excess be it the most nutritious food, can be harmful to our body. So how can we all eat healthy? I have seen many of my friend have hard times , controlling their hunger , making sure there was no fat or oil at all in what they consumed, eating only fruits and vegetables, even avoiding eating some of their favourite food even if it were a raw fruit or vegetable all in the name of eating healthy. But eating healthy is not all that difficult instead of doing all these hard things all we need to do is keep a few basic principles in our minds and follow that while eating. Eat when you are hungry and eat till you are only comfortably full, don’t overload yourself, even if it is with fruits or even water. Eating while you feel hunger will make sure you don’t overeat, if you wait till you become really hungry you might end up eating more than your body needs and if you eat when you are not hungry your body will store it as fat, as it does not need any extra energy just then. Chew your food properly. Enjoy what you are eating. There are two benefits in doing this. One you get to taste your food properly reducing the yearning for it later. Two chewing slows down the whole processes of eating. Our body does not realise immediately that we have eaten enough food chewing each mouthful gives our body enough time to let us know when we are full. If you eat fast and swallow food you will need to eat more food before your body can signal to you that you are full. So chew each mouthful well and listen to your body. Make sure you eat a variety of food items instead of eating only dal and chawal or your favourite sweet. Eating a variety of food items will make sure that you give your body different kinds of essential nutrients. Eat what you like but eat everything in moderation have some rice or chapattis with a dish of your choice but eat some salad and fruits as well. This will help you eat a well balanced diet without counting each drop of oil, remember that fat or oil too is required in adequate amounts by our body. Follow these simple principles in your life and you will not only be eating healthy but can also cut down on the stress of keeping away from your favourite foods and from being hungry all the time . So here’s to healthy and happy eating. |

Healthy food directly reflects on our face, it give shine and luster to our skin and adds to the beauty. But it is very importat to know what is the meaning of healthy food, In India people confuse healthy food with spicy and oily one which is totally opposite to the required.

Don't forget that the body does need a certain amount of oils to stay healthy too. Eating healthy to me just means moderation. if you like sweet things, then have a little, but not often. It's all about balance. |

Very well said bubble! the key here is moderation! The rule that says : "too much of a good thing is not good anymore", should still hold true. Another thing, eating raw means health too!

That's a good saying you quoted bammer. There is nothing wrong with eating some bread, pasta, red meat, and even sweets, but if we start overindulging in either one, it becomes unhealthy. And of course sticking to fresh fruit and veggies is always good to remember! |

As I'm typing this I have a lovely batch of Mjaddra on the stove. The only fat that is in it is from the extra virgin olive oil I used to carmalize the onions in, and it's absolutely delicious. Lentils, rice, and onion.. it does not get much more simple or healthy than that!

Healthy foods include fruits, vegetales and other natural foods. Try to to avoid fried snacks, more sugared foods like sweets, fast foods and faty foods..Don't always overload your stomach.

I never like the way people assume I'm on a diet when I eat a salad. I love salads! |
