Default Tips for cracked heels

There are many people who get cracked heels and it just makes their feet feel rough, so i have got some quick fixes and tips which can be used to prevent and get rid of cracked heels.

- clean and moisturise your feet everyday
- before going to sleep soak your feet in warm water, and then moisturise them
- rubbing vaseline and lemon on cracked heels is also very good

Make sure that your feet stay clean all the time, and to insure that every part and corner of your feet get cleaned, soak your feet in warm water with salt, and scrub your feet and between your toes!

You can also use a good scrub for your feet!

Really good tips. I also recommend wearing socks after wearing your moisturiser and than going to sleep. This way they dont dry up and stay soft and moist for longer.

I think you can use any scrub on the feet really, there is no such particular scrub.

If your looking for something homemade then try sugar and lemon juice!

For the scrub you may also use cooking oil with some salt on it. Soak your feet on it for several minutes before getting on to scrub them. This serves to energize weak cells in there.

Foot scrubs are brilliant, and not just for cracked heels.

Someone once bought me a foot mask (like the face masks for feet) but I got into real trouble when it was time to rinse it off. I had applied the mask while in the bedroom and I needed to get to the bathroom!!!

One of the best thing to do with cracked heals is before going to bed, put some vaseline (petroleum jelly) on your heels and wear soaks. By the next morning your feet should be very soft and you should have cracked heals. You may need to do this two or three times depending on how cracked your heels are.

Once they are ok, then you should scrub them at least once a week.

Great tips ladies I am forever walking around with bare feet and my skin tends to get really dry and rough, so I'm going to give the lemon and sugar scrub a go.

liza123, where can you get French oil? I'm interested in trying that. I also love sugar scrubs, whether storebought or homemade!

I don't recommend vaseline because it is made from Petroleum. I make a balm for my feet that contains: Pharmecutical grade lanolin, shea butter, almond oil, beeswax, peppermint oil, teatree oil, and lavender oil. It's kind of stinky because of the lanolin but oh my gosh it works so great. I put it on right when I get out of the shower and then put on cotton socks until I'm ready to leave the house. I reapply at night and then put on socks. I used to have heels that are so dry they would split right open and bleed.. now they are nice and soft!

Also, if you don't have any money, you can use crisco! I am serious ladies, slather your feet in crisco and then put on socks.. do it for two weeks and report back here!

suagr or salt work very well as a scrub, you can add a little salt to some olive oil. Or a little sugar to your favorite body wash. Either one works well. There is also a product you can get called Pretty Feet and Hands that is amazing. The only place I've ever found it is online though. But it works great.

I learned this method from a friend yesterday and I tried it last night. I soaked my feet in warm soapy water for around 10 minutes. Then I scrubbed my heel with a foot scrubber. I was able to remove a lot of dead skin. After scrubbing my feet, I apply petroleum jelly on my feet and cracked heels, then cover my feet with plastic wrap, and then I wear socks. It moisturizes my feet overnight. My feet is so soft when I woke up this morning. It's a miracle. You can do the same method with your hands but use a soft face towel or cloth for scrubbing your palm and fingers instead of the rough foot scrubber. I will try it with my hands tonight.

I"ve found that my feet stay fairly soft, but the callouses I get when walking bare foot during the summer months won't respond to oils, since there aren't any pores on the heels and bottoms of the feet.

I find that removing the callouses, before doing any soaking, is actually faster.

Default Tips for cracked heels

Applying a warm gingerly oil on the heal part regularly will work good. Proper pedicure and apply scrub will avoid healing.

Default Tips fro cracked heels

There are so many tips which you can try from your home itself. Try applying olive oil, soaking in vinegar or lemon water, applying any vegetable oil etc. Apply regularly and it will reduce the heel.

I'm going to try the petroleum jelly at night. That sounds good.

Another thing I do is rub my heels with a pumice stone when i take a showr or bath. It helps keep the heels soft.

Thanks for your tip thread starter. My regimen for cracked heels is that before going to bed I washed my feet with warm water then towel dry. After that I put petroleum jelly on my feel then I put socks and sleep with it. In the morning, my feet is soft and pinkish color on the heels.

Use banana pulp. Apply the pulp of a banana over the cracked heels. Leave the pulp on over the skin for 15 minutes, and then rinse it clean. This is a popular home remedy for cracked heels.
