A manicure is necessary for every occasion. Be it a date or an interview, you will feel confident in your looks and feel beautiful. You need the ideal accessories to get that perfect look with any outfit; more importantly, you must have beautiful hands to go with it.

But often I find that frequent visit of a salon for a manicure is difficult. By doing a manicure at home, you can not only save a lot of time but also be frugal.

Before you decide to do a manicure, make sure that you have items such as a nail polish remover, cotton balls, nail buffer, hand lotion, a primer nail polish, nail color and a transparent nail polish.

As the first step, remove the old nail polish using a cotton ball dipped in nail polish remover. Rub on some hand lotion onto the cuticles and push them back gently. Next, file and shape your nails using a nail buffer into the preferred shape be it round or square.

While applying nail polish, always apply a primer as the base coat to make the manicure last longer. Once the base coat is dry, apply the colored nail polish. While choosing the color, always remember that it describes your personality. Put on a final transparent coat of nail polish for shinier results.

Always start from pinky and end with the thumb and use wide strokes to give an even smoothness and better finish.

Its good doing things like this at home, but I find it so difficult taking the time out at home and doing something for myself, with work and then catching on sleep on the weekends, just takes up most of the time. The only way I get something like this done is by going to the beauty parlour and getting it all done there.
