Default Horrible Cuticles

Ladies, its sad but I'll admit, I chew my nails as a result, my cuticles are horrible. I've tried everything to stop biting my nails. I don't even realize I'm doing it when I do. I have been to doctors, therapists, tried the yucky tasting stuff on them everything. The doctors say its a nervous disorder and usually can't be resolved however I really want to STOP DOING IT. Does anyone have any tips to quit? In the mean time, does anyone have any really good cuticle care tips? Thanks in advance

I used to chew my nails as a kid, so I know how hard it can be to stop. In my case, I started to apply nail polish, and it helped to end the annoying habit. Are you using nail polish?

I get terrible cuticles too because I always have my hands in either water or dirt!! I garden and my nails really suffer because of it. Bert's Bees make a great lemon scented cuticle conditioner that lasts a long time and also works really well. I find that I pick at my cuticles when they're dry and cracked, and this stuff helps with that a lot!!

Have you considered wearing gloves? I don't mean like winter gloves.. Maybe some nice kid skin gloves or something? Not as a permanent solution, but just to get you past the first few weeks?

I agree with the solution suggested by SweetZ.
Try wearing some kind of gloves especially when you are agitated or nervous. That will keep you from biting your nails.

Biting the nails is very very bad habit. Cuticles are helpful to protect the nails from infections. So nail biting will damage that kind of protection and leads to disease.

Develop a resolve to break this bad habit. Nail biting habit will create bad impression towards others. When you have urge to bite the nails keep your hands on the table and get strong desire in mind "don't bite".

well i guess you have to change your habit into something else i think..like for example instead of chewing why not try banging both fingernails to each others in a upward and downward movement...( sorry i can fairly express the proper trem to be use on this one ..help me out here)
