Does washing your hair too much remove natural oils and cause hair loss?

Hair loss can be due to stress, illness or hormonal problems. Even certain medicines cause hair loss. Too much washing of hair doesn't results in hair loss.

Too much washing does remove natural oil from the hair and may cause it to become brittle and dry. Brittle and dry hair can cause split ends and breakage.

I don't think so washing the hair too much does not remove natural oils from hair and cause hair loss.we can apply warm oil over the roots and massage it,so that it strengthens the hair and reduces hair loss.

Hair falling is one of the major problem to women. Main reason of hair loss is vitamin deficiency so take vegetables regularly and oil massaging weakly once.

I think it depends on the shampoo and conditioner you are using. I've read in other forums that it's best if you shampoo you hair every other day and apply conditioner everyday.

Yes, washing the hair too much tends to remove natural oils, proteins in hair and may cause hair loss, gentle wash is required to prevent all this disadvantages.

A hairdresser told me that everytime you wash your hair you should start at a different place. For instance once at the back, than in the front and so one. Apparently always starting at the same place also leads to hair loss. Interesting.

If you are washing your hair more than two times per week means may be the oil content will be reduced. So before taking hair wash apply coconut oil and leave it for 15 minutes, then take hair bath.

I never thought about this one. That gives me an idea not to just wash my hair in any way I want. I will give it a try.

yes, hair falling is one of the major problem to women. Medicines may also help slow or prevent the development of common baldness.

What are some natural (and home-based) products that can really help replenish some of the natural oils and vitamins to a woman's hair?

Dandruff, graying of hair, loosing hair, brittle hair and slow growth of hair are some of the common hair problem because natural signs of aging or part of genetic makeup. Home remedies and natural product may solve some of the problem.
