Default Anyone with curly hair?

My daughter has naturally curly hair. I'm telling you it's a pain to take care of. Well not anymore

I took her and got it relaxed and straightened. Its so much nicer now. She can comb it again. She can wear her hair curly or straight with minimal work.

What did you do to take care of your hair if it's curly?

i also have naturally curly hair and i can say that it's really hard to style and manage. i usually spend about an hour a day just to have it straightened using a hair iron. lots of work, i know...

I keep my hair chemically relaxed and have done so for more than a decade with nor problems.

I only see the beautician for a retouch, though, and do not allow her to handle my hair more often.

Diana, how often do you have retouches? I'm taking my daughter every 10 weeks now. Seems to be working pretty well so far. I just can't believe how much easier it is to handle. She still has to flat iron it to make it really straight. It's gorgeous now curly or straight.

Ive got natural curly hair too, but I haven't had much problem handling it, apart from the fact when wanting to straighten it which takes about 10-15 mins.

I found that after having layers in my hair, my hair was easier to manage. I try to avoid from putting in kind of chemicals in my hair, and straight my hair when required or leave it curly!

Generally people who have curly hair, have a certain dryness in their hair too, so to help this by using a moisturized conditioner really helps.

Oh yes... that is one thing I was told. My daughter doesn't need to wash her hair daily. Washing it daily is drying it out. She can wet it, but needs to wash it every other day.

I switched shampoo/conditioners too. We now use a moisturizing both.

My daughter could not straighten her hair before she got it relaxed. It was super curly!

I have naturally curly hair. I hate it. I have never been able to do anything with it. I usually wear it up in a bun on the top of my head. That is my hairstyle and has been for years. I can't wear it down because it "poofs" right out.

I had it straightened once. It cost me over $100 to have done. I loved it. My hair was straight but it only lasted about 3 months. It was great having it straight. I just can't afford to have it done though. That's expensive.

I also had a friend that use to use this awesome flat iron on my hair. She bought it online. It was the best flat iron for my hair. She use to straighten it for me every once in awhile but it would take 30 minutes to do.

Curly hair is a pain in the butt for sure.

And then Sweet- it only stayed straight until you got it wet right? That is what we deal with. We get her hair relaxed, not straightened- so when we flat iron it- the next time it's wet it's curly again.

Got to love it- with summer coming- it won't be straight ever... it's ok though- it's a real pretty curl now.

The best way to maintain curly hair is a free style hair style. Curly hair is usually a added beauty to a girl, she can change her way of dressing to match her curly hair, and its better to avoid trying to make much work on hair, just leave it frees style, it will look good.

My entire life, I've always wanted curly hair. Doesn't it always seem to work out that way, you want the hair you don't have?
