Default Kids twisting hair

How can we get someone to stop twisting their hair? I babysit a 4 yr old who twists her hair into a knot during nap time. She twists it so much that that strand falls out! She now has a bald spot on the front of her head from pulling her hair out! Her parents are out of ideas on how to get her to stop. Help!

Did you try placing a doll with her while taking a nap? See whether she plays with the dolls hair. Use a soft cap just in case she starts playing with her hair.

That's really tough. I think the doll idea is really smart though. I would give that a try. What have the parents tried so far?

She does go to sleep with a bear, but not something with hair that she can touch. The doll sounds like a good idea.

The parents are more into rewarding if she stops. They told her that if she continues she can't grow her hair long.

Long hair is very important to girls, however, if she's sleeping, then she may not be able to stop it that way..
