Default Flat irons

I was just at a womans expo yesterday and learned that a flat iron can also be used to curl your hair. Am I the only one who didn't know this? I have a very expensive flat iron, but have only used it to straighten my hair. Today I used it to flip up the ends. I can't wait to curl with it.

In the past I used a flat iron like you, mostly to straighten my hair. My hair is naturally curly so the flat iron was the best way to straighten my hair. I was not able to curl my hair with the flat iron. I guess it would depend on the size of the flat iron. I imagine that a small iron could make good curls. I do not use the flat iron any more because it really dried my hair and caused my hair to break off.

I'm not quite sure that I understand the concept. How can you use the flat iron to curl the hair after all? And why would anyone use it when there is the curling iron? Could you be a little more specific?

Yes, I did know that you could do it, but I have tried it and failed miserably.

I've even watched the experts do it on tv make overs, but I've still not managed to do it myself.

I thought that the flat iron is used specifically to make your hair straight. I think that it would be easier (and you'd get better results) if you just used a curling iron to curl your hair. Was the hair iron you saw a two-in-one type of hair iron?

I have heard about it, but, having gotten burned once by a curling iron as a teen, I never touch any of them, I am terrified of hot metal getting near my head / face, LOL!
