Default Braids

I have always been a big fan of the intricate braids that women wear; however, I just can't seem to do it for myself. Take fishtail braids for instance, I have tried many times but haven't been able to pull it off. Does anyone have any tips for me on how to braid your hair properly?

The only kind of braid I know how to do is the french braid. When I had longer hair, I could do it on myself and it always came out perfect. It is harder for me to do it on someone else for some reason.

Maybe you could google how to do fishtail braids. There's bound to be some information out there on it. I've personally never cared for the fishtail style, but I love an well-done french braid.

I love that too, but unfortunately I can't get around doing that one quite right either. I'm thinking I may not be good at any type of braiding after all...

I only know how to do the simplest kind of braid - when you separate the hair in three parts and then intertwine it together. I can do it on myself or someone else, but I don't wear this hairstyle very often. As to learning new braids, I think the best way is to have someone show it to you and then guide you through the process. When you've done it a couple of times under their guidance, you will know what you are doing.
