Default Busting some hair myths

Here is a look at some of the popular hair myths and the explanations that will check whether they are true or just plain false myths.

Some people think that if they will sleep with wet hair they will develop scalp fungus, but it never happens. For the development of scalp infections an involvement with infected humans, hair care tools or animals is required.

People often advise others that to get their hair to they should stroke them with a brush for 100 times every day. In fact it can have a negative impact on the hair as it destroys them. This will also lead to split ends and eventually the breakage of hair.

Some people refrain from sharing their brushes and combs for the fear of developing a scalp disease. Well it is absolutely true as parasites like Lice can transported from one scalp to another through the brushes, combs as well as other hair care tools.

The salon people usually comment that the more you cut your hair the faster or thicker will they grow. Well the cutting of hair does nothing to the biologically determined growth rate or the overall texture of your hair. If the hair is thin or limp they never grow thicker after a hair you can actually plump them with the help of the various hair care products.

It is a widespread belief that the color treatment can make you lose your hair. The truth is that the chemicals in the hair colors can affect the hair adversely but can not instigate a hair loss.

People refrain from using the salon products because they think of them as identical to the various drugstore products. Well usually the salon products have higher quality contents; they are designed to provide an intensive cleansing, conditioning and moisturizing. This is not the case for the drugstore products.

well the information given by you is quite true, i have never heard of the fungus thing and i usually sleep with wet hair. one more myth i want to share is that oiling doesn't enhance hair growth but it adds to the shine of hair and is mainly helpful for lubrication

Haha! Blindness I have never heard that one before.

I used to colour my hair often and did loose quite a bit of hair in the process. I agree it did make my hair look shiny and healthy, but I don't think it ever was.

One I used to hear a lot is that if you shave your kid's head, the hair will grow thicker. I don't hear this one anymore, I guess people have figured out that you are born with a certain number of hair folicules and a certain thickness - which you can't change.

There are no difference between the salon products and the drugstore products that do not involve chemicals that change the structure of the hair.

I have heard tons of salesmen at salons talk to beauticians and the, without fail, keep up the impression that the professional version of a shampoo is "stronger" than that in the drugstore.

The fact of the matter is that salon shampoos and conditioners are no different in relative concentrations, to those products sold in drugstores. They don't alter the structure of the hair at all.

Stroking their hair 100 times a day? thats unimaginable, if someone will stroke 100 times a day. Then its sure they loose total hair within a week. Its generally known that combing often will increase hair fall.

I've heard that one about 100 brush strokes a day. In fact, I've tried it. It made my hair really soft. But yes, it definitely leads to breakage and loss of hair.
