I used to cut my own hair all the time. I haven't in a long while, but I'm itching to again really soon. I'm just nervous to do it this time around.

What are your tips and should I just go for it? My hair is about mid neck length and is thinner, with a slight wave/curl to it and black. I want it to be short...like almost a pixie. I have a round but slim face and big eyes, plus I've had super short hair before, so I know I won't look horrible. Should I just grab pieces and cut?

If you're not sure of what you're doing better not try it. It would be hard for you to cut your own hair at that kind of lenght so it's advisable to just go to a salon for a hair cut.

The bangs have grown out a bit and I've stopped cutting them. I might go back to long hair now.

i don't cut my own hair. it would be horrible if i do, since my eyesight isn't that good, and i don't think i'd be able to cut it properly.

It makes me remembered when I was still a kid. I ask my brother to cut my hair and he did it. After a months, I saw my hair were already long and decided to cut it by myself, luckily, it looks beautiful. LOL! Do you like cutting your hair alone?

I don't cut my own hair, but maybe you should consider getting a professional to help you or get a professional's opinion about what area to cut. Why are you so nervous anyway? You did it confidently before, right?

I am always went to parlour to cut my hair. Because i wont keep same hair style for long time. I have to change my hair style often. So i wont cut my hair myself.

Good thing you liked your haircut done by you. Mine is terrible, even the bangs that I cutted didn't turn out as I imagined it to be.

It's not convenient for me to cut my own hair because it's very long. It even reaches until my waistline. I have a cousin who's working in a beauty salloon. I'm here regular customer that's why I always avail discounts. Awesome!

I cut my own hair once. I lost 3 inches! My hair is layered so it's easier because I don't really have to make it straight. It's just a little tedious and messy. I bought the scissors they use at the salon, the one for layered hair. It was okay but I don't think I'll ever do it again... I'd rather be pampered at salons than suffer in my own home haha!

Hehe that's what I'm talking about. It's really good to experiment on things but the result is really a downfall sometimes.

Sometimes I trim the bangs, and I have trimmed my hair a couple of times when it was long, far below shoulder length. It's a pain though. A hairdresser does the trimming so much quicker, and a lot neater, too! After all, they're a professional. I prefer hairdressers.

You can better go to a professional hair cuting person, so that they have a variety of choices for your hair style.. and you dont have to spend your time in doing it yourself because they can do it pretty quicker, and perfect.

ya, sure. I do cut my hair and i guess almost everyone cut their hair. Because everyone believes that hair cut improves hair growth, reduces hair fall and such things. And it actually works good. Most of all, It gives a good look if you cut your hair regularly and maintain it.

I would be way to nervous to cut my own hair. I think I would mess it up. Like, somehow I'd cut my ear off or something.. I dunno lol. I think that's awesome if you're able to. I'm jealous!!

Haha. you may experiment on your hair if you wish. I cut my hair before and I looked horrible LOL. My friends were all at smile when they saw me. I was a bit embarrassed but it's okay hehe

You are much braver than I am! I cut my own bangs and they are never looking just right. I would just go and have someone cut it first, especially if you are going for a new style. Then once it is cut, you can do the trimming on it yourself.

I was watching some Japanese film on the net and was inspired by the actress' bangs so I copied it. I captured an image of her and then I started to cut my bangs. LOL. I thought I perfectly made it and I thought it looked good on me but well, my boy friend didn't like it, and I felt bad about it! He keeps on reminding me about it and he's laughing about it.
