Default Is it normal for your hair to steam when you straighten it?

My hair is completely dry but still steams when I straighten it. Could the steam be dangerous. I'm pregnant and worried about it harming my baby.

All type of hair, even clean hair with no hair care product in it will steam. If you straighten your hair it get too hot it may loss of oil content in your hair. After straighten your hair use coconut oil daily.

Straightening your hair will not hurt your unborn child.

My hair steams when I straighten it too. My hair isn't dry at all. I wash and condition it regularly and it is very healthy.

The steam is natural when we straighten our hair due to the heat generated by the iron. This won't harm your baby at all since there are no chemicals in the steam. It's just water vapor being generated when the heat is applied to your hair. Don't worry dear, this won't harm the baby.

It doesnt effect your baby, but still hair straightening causes to hair fall, if it is done by a professionalist, then she may know about the allowable heat and distance, but we usually tend to finish the work faster by using excess amount of heat.

Yest.. when your hair is dry its not normal for it to steam. Because steam comes with moisture. May be since you are pregnant. You may sweat a little more and that is the reason. But don't use much driers. please.. its not good for hair.

As far as I know, that won't hurt your child. I would talk to your doc though, just to be safe. It wouldn't hurt

what is dangerous is the chemical you used on the straightening rather than the steam itself i guess..

Steaming won't affect your baby unless you put chemicals on your hair. Pregnant women are not allowed to have their hair straightened by chemical means because it is hazardous to your baby.
