If you want to remove your hair in way that the skin remains soft and there is no hint of rough strands of hair, here are some tips you can use. First of all make sure that the blade you use is sharp enough as if the blade is worn out it does not remove all hairs. Before you start with the hair removal process, you should soak them in warm water for at least a period of three minutes. This will soften them and will open the hair follicles thereby relaxing the skin. Also they will not wear out the blade. Try using a hair conditioner before shaving them off as it makes the hair soft and easy to shave. Do not remove the hair when you have just gotten up after sleeping. This is because the body fluids during the sleep make the hair a little puffy. Never use a perfume or deodorant as soon as you shave you hair, this is because it will cause some irritation. Try waxing instead of shaving as it is a much longer lasting process. For waxing the best bet would be one-use waxed stripes. Avoid the use of hot wax at home as it can burn the skin and can also cause some other problems. After you remove the hair, use some baby oil to calm the skin down and prevent any type of irritations. Finally if you are not game for hair removal, the best thing would be to bleach them. It will lighten them to suit the skin color and render them unnoticeable. However maker it a point to use only body hair bleaches. All these tips will help you to get rid of problems like leftover hairs and sore skin. Once you remove your hair using these tips you will get better results |

Shaving maybe the easiest of methods, but its not the best and sometimes i know i have to use the blade too, but it can be so harsh on your skin. However i think if you follow what Neetu1 has posted then you would not harm your skin as much.

I have tried using hair conditioner for shaving, and I can attest to it being a great tip! It works very well, shaving goes easy, and the skin afterwards is nice and smooth.

I use the shaving method too. I have tried the hair removers and they don't work as well as they should. Not all the hair comes off, or you end up with a rashy patch thats itchy the next day. WEaxing would probably be the easiest but I haven't had the urge to try it yet.

Good tips. I will try the hair conditioner tip. Shaving below is such a chore, but that's what hubby likes.

Thanks for the useful tips. I use waxing as well as shaving method, shaving method is easier to use but not long lasting. Whereas waxing gives long lasting results but its more time consuming than shaving.

I love using the wax strips - there is no mess to clean up and best of all and it lasts much longer than shaving. I have noticed that over the years, the hair gets finer and sparse as well and much easier to remove.

Yeah, I go for the waxing too. Just a few hints on that though. If you do wax, it is important to regularly exfoliate the waxed area. If you don't the skin cells can build up and the tiny new hair gets trapped under the skin and then you end up with those ingrown hair bumpy things. So exfoliate and spare yourself the unsightly bumps. If it is your first time waxing. Just do tiny bits at a time. And make sure you stretch out the skin before you pull and it is not as painful. Happy experimenting. |

I have a technique that I use for bikini line hair removal--the kind that's very difficult and even dangerous to try with wax or wax strips. I get a little of the wax from a strip on my thumb and forefinger. Then I just grab and yank the hair in places where I won't use a wax strip. The wax keeps the hair from slipping between your fingers, and you can go over the same area as often as you need to, even to get one last hair. The more you can grab up between thumb and forefinger, the more efficient it is. And it doesn't really hurt any more than waxing does. I use an Epilady mechanical depilator, and then follow up with shaving. Shaving keeps the hair from growing back under the skin, and does it a little more thoroughly than just scrubbing or exfoliating. Last edited by Divina; 06-24-2009 at 03:52 AM. I've been curious about trying wax, but does anyone have a recommendation of what type to use? Any specific brands that seem to work better than others?

I too have facial hair!! At first I bleached it, but it didn't work - its just became blond .. then I waxed it ,that worked ..but I did great damage to my skin. Finally on my friends advice i tried using spring bars. Its a spring that removes the hair from the roots without doing any damage to our skin!! Its amazing. I give it thumbs up

All these techniques are wonderful, but I have a question about waxing... Doesn't it cause any allergic reaction on the skin. I have a very sensive skin so I am reluctant to use any product with chemicals that may disagree with it.

How about elipators, is anyone a fan of them? I have used one for my legs, it seems a little painful at first, but I quickly got used to it. It works very well, and the hair won't grow back for at least two weeks.

These are the side effects of waxing > Skin turns red after waxing (due to hyper pigmentation) > extreme pain which makes you scarry > Ingrown hairs can also happen > “Heard of Folliculitis?” - In some rare cases, folliculitis can also occur |

That ingrown side effect sounds really painful. I wonder if you'll be itching after waxing. Also do you wash it with water right after waxing?

Very easiest and painless method is applying cream and remove the hairs. While applying the cream apply cream in downward direction and while removing the hair remove it in opposite direction. It will be effective.
