Default At what age?

What is the proper age for young ladies to go to the gynecologist?

I think it is once they become or think about becoming sexually active. Am I thinking wrong?

I should say when is the proper time for a pap smear?

Of course if your daughter is having problems then they should go sooner.

I think that should be around 13 or as soon as they get their first period. After all, they will need to be followed by a doctor to make sure everything is fine and have to be examined prior to getting birth control. I would say the younger, the better.

I would ask your family doctor. Things certainly have changed since I was young. I went when I was in high school. I had horrible cramps from my period and my mother took me to the gyno for that purpose. I almost died when they put me on birth control pills (that shows my age, huh).

Here many young people are sexually active. Since the age of maturing here is kinda different to other countries I must say that they should consult a gynecologist at 15 so that they would know what to do to protect themselves.

I went when I was 18. I read somewhere that you should go before you turn 26 or something. That's the age when you can't get the vaccine anymore, too.

Well i think the suitable age to go to the gyno is as soon as a girls periods start. At or after this stage any problems you should visit the gyno without a doubt.

in my opinion, i think once a girl starts to have her menstrual period would be the best time to start making it a habit to visit the gynecologist. this is to make sure that everything is ok with her reproductive system.

My gyn has always said the time to visit the gynocologist is when a girl becomes sexually active. This age will be different for everyone. That is also the time to start regular pap smears.

I think girls should start making their yearly visits to gyn when they start having periods whether sexually active or not. It is good to instill this early and helps girls learn their bodies.

If I had a daughter I would take mine for her first visit after her first period. My friend took her daughter when she was 8 but I think that's a little young unless the girl had her period.

The best thing to do is to ask your doctor when he thinks your daughter should go. Things are so different now than they were when I was young.
