Is anyone here menopausal? I'd like to know if you are still experiencing PMS even at the early stages of menopause. My monthly periods have stopped since November last year, but I still experience PMS every other month. Is this normal? did you experience the same?

I am not menopausal yet. I haven't had a period in 7 yrs because I had a hysterectomy. I think it is normal to still have pms if you still have your ovaries even if you aren't menstrating anymore.

In menopausal period, if the bleeding occurs once or twice for less period is common, but if it continues for more than twice for longer time, best suggested is you have to compulsorily consult the best Gynaecologist in your place, the other is, if your depressed in any manner, avoid depression, because it causes bleeding, finally, take rest, avoid doing more work.

I'm way too far from menopausal period so I'm a bit curious about this matter. I read some article that somehow it is normal for women. You can prevent them by avoiding too much salt, sugar, cafeine and alcohol.

I'm way too young for menopause, but I heard a lot of scary stuff about it. Is that really true? I don't want hot flashes and all of that other crazy stuff to happen to me.

I had a total hysterectomy with the removal of the ovaries in December 2008 and I do not feel any symptoms. Prior to my surgery, my physician advised me that there are medications to alleviate menopausal discomforts.

Hot flashes are normal for women who undergo menopause. It is inconvenient, but something you have to bear, like menstruation. There are medications that alleviate the discomforts of menopause, but they also have side effects, as all medications do.

Do you think its true that a person who is having her menopausal period changes her attitudes? This what I usually encountered with my aunt. |

I agree on that. Womens during menopausal times changes their attitude. I have experienced it with my mom, a lot of mood swings! It was so hard to understand at first but when time goes by I got used to it, simply by thinking "it is just at this time only".

It's not so much that they change their attitudes but that their hormones are going erratic on them, wreaking havoc on their emotions and causing them to have mood swings. I've been through menopause and for me, it wasn't all that bad an experience. My period stopped abruptly and altogether. I sort of liked that. I did experience hot flushes but nothing unbearable. I believe I did suffer mood swings but i didn't realize it til much later when I began to recall getting angry at my son every day for the slightest reasons. He was a young boy then. Poor kid. It's a good thing I didn't do him permanent damage screaming like a banshee every day. We're still very close and he tells me he loves me. |

I'm not menopausal, but I think that it's a little unfair. To me, getting a period is torture every month just because I'm a woman, and when it finally comes to a stop, you get all of these crazy side effects. I've heard a lot of horror stories about this time in a woman's life.
