Avoid salty and oily foods. Lessen carbohydrates intake and start exercise.

Many people say: "Oh it's simple, just eat less than you burn and you'll lose weight" But what people fail to remember is that everyone burns calories at different rates. My body burns calories very very very slowly so I have to eat much less than most people of my size and activity level. It's not fair, but it is my reality. People who tell you that it's easy to lose weight likely have fast metabolisms and they were likely simply a little lazy or over indulgent unhealthy foods and then they simply cut out desserts or add an afternoon walk and voilą they lose 30 pounds. For others of us it's not quite so easy.
