Default Butterfly aasan

Butterfly Aasan in yoga is very beneficial for ladies, it helps to stay away from various kinds of diseases like high menstrual flow, cist formation etc. It is also good for weight loss but should not be practiced during periods.

I had a small cyst about a year and a half ago, and in one of the Ram Dev Yoga books i read about the butterfly aasan, and performed the yoga exercise for 2 months continually. And surprising when i went for my next ultrasound, the cyst was gone. So I would really recommend this yoga aasan for you women, there wont be any harm and you will just benefit from it.

I too know the benefits of butterfly aasan. But most of the asanas we cannot do during menstrual period. Because those days body will be so tired due to bleeding.

Thanks for this info! I'm just getting into yoga, but have'nt heard of butterfly aasan. I've had abnormal periods since having my daughter 3 years ago, and it gets very frustrating.

I've always wanted to try yoga. It sounds very relaxing. I'm just not sure I have the concentration! I could see me starting to laugh and everyone staring at me like I'm crazy haha. I feel awkward when things are quiet.. just a little thing of mine lol!!!

I don't know very much about yoga, either, so could someone explain the butterfly aasan to me? Is yoga bad to practice during your period or is it just the aasan set bad during periods?
