Default Pill can affect immune system of women

A study that has been carried out by a team in London at the Liverpool University has revealed certain affects that a contraceptive pill does on women. They say that the natural ability of women gets disrupted. Experts say that every man has his own aroma that defines his genes and woman reacts to this smell subconsciously to get a partner of different genes to hers. The pills disrupt this ability to sniff for her partner. This can also make them attract instead to not the ideal partners for them. It has been analyzed that the birth control pill affects the odor preferences and reduces chances of passing of the diverse genes to a child, weakening the immune system of woman. It is must to have varied MHC molecules – Major Histocompatibility Complex (MHC) to have good immune system. So, researchers suggest a second thought before consuming the pill.

The interesting thing is, when I was on the pill, I was with 2 people who were not meant for me at all. Now that I'm off the pill, I am with a guy that I think it perfect for me.. hmmm lol

Is this considered a side effect of consuming the pill? I wonder how impaired the woman can become after taking it both in regards to her immune system and her ability to pick someone that is right for her? Does this happen after a single use?

I don't have the credential to disagree with a scientific study; however, I would still take it with a grain of salt, as there have been many different studies in the past about different medications and/or contraception methods available and some of them still remain contradictory. Contraceptive pills are still one of the safest methods against unwanted pregnancy and who here can absolutely confirm that they have always been with the wrong partners while they were using the pill? This means all of us who are using or have used the pill in the past have not ''sniffed'' properly - I think not...You can't believe everything you see even if it's a scientific study.

I know what you mean. A lot of the time doctors think one thing, and then suddenly you hear the opposite. (Ex: Egg yolks used to be thought of as bad for most people b/c of the cholesterol, sodium and fat. Later, it was discovered that it's best for people to eat the entire egg. *this is an example I heard from my father, and it was only 1 study..*)

Interesting research, but I'm not sure I fully believe it, either.

I know the pill can be dangerous though. Women who are on the pill should not smoke - it increases the risk of a stroke. A young relative of us actually did have a stroke because of it.
