How did you first learn about menstration? A lot of mothers don't tell their daughters about it, and when it happens, they're so scared. My mom told me about it, and for me, it was like a prison sentence. I dreaded the day that it would come. I told my mom that I didn't want to get my period until I was at least 37.

My mom had a brief talk with me when I was in fifth grade, but mostly I read upon it in the magazines. It was no surprise to me when it came and has never been a big deal ever since either.

I was a late bloomer, so it was already a talk in the classroom when I got mine. I think I was in 13 or 14 that time. some of my friends had it when they was 12.

I don't remember when I first heard about it, but I know I was informed before it actually happened to me. I was 12 when mine started and I was FREAKING OUT! I was like, "Why me? Why today". I was so bummed, because I thought I was never going to be able to swim again lol
