From what I have read, menopause begins around the age of 52. I believe you are too young and you don't seem to experience the other symptoms either. You are perhaps in the pre-menopausal stage as the articles I've researched mentioned that the changes start to occur 5 to 10 years prior to actual menopause. I believe the best person to ask would be your doctor in this case.

You can go to the doctor and get tested to see if you are menapausal or premenapausal. Generally you don't go threw manopause until your 50's but that isn't every case. I'd have it checked out. Are you having any of the symptoms?

You are still too young to be in perimenopause. I started at 45 and my periods stopped at 52. What did your gynecologist tell you after the trans-v and the internal exam?

I don't know very much about the pre-menopausal stage, and I think that's because not a lot of people talk about it. For most women, there's usually more talk about just menopause.

I have read articles on early menopause. I haven`t stopped having periods yet but they are coming every 24 days and only one heavy day. It only lasts 4 days. This has been going on for 8 years now. Ugh! My doctor says my body is working on going into full menopause. Some women do start younger than 50. I wont be 50 until Novenmber.

I know what menopause is, but I pretty much know NOTHING about it. Is there anyone who's going through it that could give some more info on what happens to you mentally and physcially?

Each woman is unique even in reaching her menopause period. Maybe you are in your peri-menopausal stage. But you still have to wait and see. Even doctors can't predict when menopause starts. Keep observing your body. If you begin having hot flashes, frequent headaches, depression, hot temper, etc. report it to your gynecologist. Search the internet for "peri-menopause" so you will know what is happening.
