Default Cravings other than chocolate

I've heard that a lot of women crave chocolate during that time of the month, but not me. I like a lot of salty snacks, basically, anything that crunches. What does everyone else crave? Does anyone have any idea what causes those cravings?

During that time of the month I crave anything sweet or caffeinated. Starbucks, Skittles, Pancakes, etc. I feel like I could get really fat, but I never gain any weight and it's only once a month so it works out. Oh ya, also nachos for some reason... I LOVE cheese hahahaI

Honestly, this is the first time I am hearing of people getting cravings during their period. I had read about it but never met anyone experiencing it until now. I had read that the cravings are due to low serotonin levels and brain sends signals to the body to intake more carbohydrates which basically increases the production of serotonin.

I get cravings all the time, which is why I keep a chocolate stash at my desk. But I crave all kinds of things. Sometimes, I want chips, pickles, barbeque, icecream, smoothies, etc.

If I had a stash at my desk, it would never last for more than a few hours. Especially if it's chocolate. I don't allow myself to keep anything else other than carrots, grapes or a granola bar to reach for; anything else is just way too tempting.

I love snacks no matter what the calendar says, but during that time, I end up getting lots of chips and granola. That's when I allow myself to sort of "binge" on something like granola. I even use that time of month as an excuse to get me something sweet.

I have never really heard of a craving during monthly period. I don’t really notice it on myself. But upon reading this, maybe I will try to notice it especially that my period is upcoming this week.

A lot of the things that I eat around that time and during many other times of the month are pretty unusual. A lot of my friends have told me that I eat like a pregnant woman. I wonder if that's a compliment....
