Default Earth Hour: 8.30pm, Saturday 27th March 2010

Have you noticed any environmental changes in your locality?

Over the years we are being warned about the problem of global warming. Scientists have warned us that with increase in the global temperature, the sea levels will rise, climatic conditions worsen, species will start to extinct, in short, end of the world as we know it.

Even with the activities of people like Al Gore, the pollution level has not gone down. This warming will adversely affect the growth of food products and this will lead to famines and droughts. As we all know, the main factor that add to the problem is the emissions of automobiles and industries. But, it is impossible to stop these emissions. The only thing possible is to try to reduce these problems by using energy like solar energy or wind energy.

If you watch the advertisements on Television, you can see that many of them are based or at least hint at the issue of global warming. Through all this let us hope the public awareness grows and every one will contribute his share towards the solution of the issue.

The dedication of one hour for earth to help reduce the global warming and to show your stand on the issue was started in 2007 in Sydney. People all over the world will contribute by turning off all lights for one hour from 8:30 PM on Saturday 27th March 2010. Be sure to show your love for our earth on this day.

That is such a cool idea, however, I'm not sure everyone has the opportunity to do it. I feel like I do that on a daily basis. I make it a point to keep the lights off in the house when I can, even if it's a bit dim.

I'm sure by having this hour each year, it reminds people to do their part. I have a feeling that many may quickly forget though, moving back to their regular routines.

Most of the greenhouse gases that cause global warming
come from cows in India.

How does cow caused a global warming? I think, people caused global warming and we are also the one to solve it.

I just can't imagine how cow caused global warming?

Ya I’m pretty much sure that those cows are making up for centuries of pollutants from industrialized nations who now believe in shutting down industry so that another millions of Indians remain jobless,
--->so they can’t afford healthy nutrients--> & lead to increased global warming from the decaying feces.
Hmm, it does make sense. Wow!
