Default Unemployment

Does anyone know the rules regarding unemployment in NYState? I have been told if you were making $17 an hour and are offered a new job at $15 an hour you have to take it. Is this true, or is there a percentage of your last earnings that you have to accept?

I do not know... I am in IL, and my understanding was that you have to keep searching and accept any job offered to you while you're on unemployment.

That seems really weird. I mean, I guess it makes sense, because they want to see that you're trying. And, if you're trying then you would take anything, even if it isn't something you want to do. That kinda stinks though..

I think the assumption is that if you're unemployed, you'll take what you're offered and be grateful for it. Having to deal with a pay decrease is a lot better than not getting paid at all.

Wow I think that concept is way better than being unemployed at all. I wouldn't mind if someone would offer me a job right now but if it involves a dirty job i'll never take it haha. But that's cool though our government never thought about this strategy to resolve huge amounts of unemployment here. They never cared I guess, they keep telling the people that they'll increase jobs this year but still many are jobless.

I will admit, I'm very picky about where I work. That's why I searched online for months and am now doing the things that make me happy

If you wanna be picky, you gotta do research and allow yourself that option, but first, you must accept what you can find.

I'm also picky no wonder I can't find any jobs for me haha. I've never done any researching for jobs online but I want to try something different.

Some ideas are:
freelance writing, forum poster, blogger, article writing, and other things. Do you want to write, or draw, input data?
