Default Tracking your expenses

Do you keep track of your expenses and balance your checkbook? It is amazing how many people don't - they just spend and write checks, and then get hit by overdraft charges. Some of them admit they had no idea they were supposed to do that since it was never done in their family growing up!

I do to a point, but have lost track of things lately. I put everything on my credit card and then I glance over things and make sure they look right before paying. I really do trust Bank of America.

I don't have a credit card so I don't have to worry about bills. I really don't like the idea of using it cuz I'm so forgetful about stuffs that I buy.

I see where you're coming from and that's how I thought I would be, but honestly, using my card instead of cash has helped me a lot!! This way, I know exactly how much I have and can look and see where I'm spending too much and fix it. It's nice!

I have made it a habit to note down any purchase I make. I figured out it would be worthwhile to keep track of my expenses. Handling individual bills including those of cards & cash paid ones; are quite messy for me. I prefer keeping a diary.

I don't write checks, but I keep track of my expenses another way. I know there's a certain amount in my bank account, and I don't go over it. I check my bank account very often to be sure of the balance, especially before a purchase.

I use a debit card and sometimes write checks. Both are reflected in my bank account records, which I check every couple of days to see what has cleared and what hasn't, how much money I have left, etc. I write it all down in a blance book, too, to have the numbers handy.

I do that a lot, too, Lissy. I try not to spend money if I don't have enough money in my account, and my account won't allow me to overdraft unless I have money coming into my account.
