Default Education and Money

Is it really true that you make more money if you have a higher education? I think it can be true, but peoples' motivation has a lot to do with success. I mean, if someone is given everything, they probably can't do well on their own but for those of us who have to work for it and work hard, it means more. I mean, look at me, working online.. I've made about 200 in the last week and a half. Everyone told me I could never do it, but I'm doing it. I just keep up on things and don't give up

Motivation has a lot to do with it, but I do think that it's true that if you have a degree, then you have the possibility to make more money. It depends on the job. Most jobs will pay a lot simply because it's dangerous and few others want to do it.

Yeah the higher degree you have earned the more money you can get when you work. No employer could ever resist a person with a ,CPA,Ph.D or other titles attached to their names.

There are some exceptions to this rule. There are lots of people who have been incredibly successful without a college degree, and they're not all athletes, either.

I personally know one such guy, he was a truck driver, then he started his own business, and he is now making around $30,000 a month. No college degree, but he is smart.

I have a degree, and while it did help me to land a couple good jobs in the past, it also proved to be useless when we were in a tough situation and I was looking for a job - any job. I applied to McDonalds and other restaurants, even to one place that needed a dishwasher. Not one call, not one interview.

Some people like me complete their degrees just to get a hold of a backup plan for the future. I'm also planning to do something on my own, so I won’t need to see the face of my boss again.
I think that it’s worth a try & besides what I have learnt till now is that when you work smartly every venture is a possible success.
But for working smartly you need to have knowledge. The truck driver wouldn’t have been successful until he had the knowledge about the working of his business.

I feel degree gives you the knowledge required. I can manage 3-4 events a day thanks to my degree & the experience it provided. Excellence matters but in this materialistic world so does the degree. It would have taken me years of experience to show that I'm capable of working in a well known company. Graduation does provide more opportunity for big bucks.

Very good point, you're very wise. I like how you open my eyes to the part of the topic that I'm overlooking. It's really helpful

There are plenty of helpful books that you can learn from about how money works, how to run a business, build assets and passive income, and you will probably know more than a college grad. One such book is Rich Dad, Poor Dad by Robert Kiyosaki. Easy to read, lots to learn.

I do feel the rush for higher studies is due to the rush for money..Education is necessary it provides you with the amenities to surge ahead in career.. But exceptional case of success are also there where people who doesnt even have degree are toping the charts in business.. I think what matters is sheer determination..
