Tiger Woods was voted as being the athlete of the decade past week and he was also voted PGA player of the year. Given the scandalous news about his indiscretions, he has certainly taken a blow from the huge companies as Gilette and Tag Heuer. Nevertheless, it seems he's still going strong. I personally don't think that his personal life should have no bearing on how people rate him as a golf player, as he is a great sportsman. But I have read many postings online that trash him because of the infidelity scandal. What is your opinion? Do you think that a public figure should live his life according to what the people expect or do you believe that we are all human beings and even those of us who are famous make mistakes and should not be judged solely based on those mistakes? |

The way he plays golf has nothing to do with his personal life, but the public does like a good scandal to distract them from their own personal lives. On the other hand, when public figures do something like this, they must know that they'll get caught one day. He should just accept the consequences of his actions.

I suppose it's just a double standard for celebrities. Some celebrities have even been able to turn their "mishaps" into something to make them even more famous. It's not like he didn't know what he was doing.

I don't think someone's personal life should have any affect on their life. I mean, if he somehow broke the rules of golf, then that would make sense. But, him cheating has no affect on his job.. it doesn't make him any less of a golfer lol. People are so weird for saying he shouldn't keep his job and things liek that

This is just stuff to make average people feel better about themselves. It's nothing more than pure entertainment. I don't care either way. I don't even like golf.
