Default Progressive myopia

I just got my eyes checked and realised that my number keeps increasing. It is upto -3.5 now. I am really scared as i am only 22 now. I am thinking of undergoing the lasik surgery. I wear contacts othewise. What should I do ? Is there anyway my number would decrease ?

Well, i am also an eye patient but my power is -1.25, first of all, make it a habbit to wear spectacles as much as possible. Secondly, try youga in morning, start drinking carrot juice as it is elixir for eyes. Amla and citrus fruits containing vitamin-c can also help.

I am also a patient of myopia 1st time when i was 16 years old that time my power was -1.5 both eye within 6-7 years it reach -3.5(right eye) -3.75(left eye).Doctor said don't worry increasing rate of power will be reduce after 26-27 years old. This myopia can be happen for genetic reason and also deficiency of vitamin-A and vitamin-C is another important reason.

Lasik surgery is not recommended while the number is changing. Only after it remains stable for 4-5 years, it is recommended.

I'm not really sure. I mean, it's normal for your eyes to get worse as you age. There are just some people (I being one of them) that our eyes just get worse quicker. I would stick to glasses honestly. Contacts, even the doctors who have given them to me have told me, are not good for your eyes. It's not natural to touch your eye that much and put something in your eye.

I keep hearing good things about lasik, but keep in mind, that's a MAJOR surgery. The main reason I haven't done it is because I'm soooo scared of my eyes being messed up. I've heard from a few people that once you get it done once, you have to have it done a few times, but I'm not sure.. that doesn't seem to make sense to me. I would talk to a few different docs and get many opinions before you do it, because that's something that you will have to live with the rest of your life.

Good luck to you, whatever you decide
