| I'm not sure why, but I don't feel comfortable calling myself a woman. Does this have to do with my age? I will be 21 years old on April 19th, and I just feel weird calling myself a woman. I always call myself and those my age girls. I wish there was a word that could work as both. Men can be called either boy or man, but their 'in-between' word is guy. I guess I'm just not comfortable calling someone old or young. Also, lady sounds weird to me as well. Does/has anyone felt this way?

I understand exactly what you mean. At 22 years old, I feel like the word "woman" is still too grown-up for me. The best way I feel that I can describe myself is probably with the words "young adult" or "young woman."

I have no problem referring to myself as "lady" - I was raised as one, and try to stay one no matter what my circumstances are (and there have been some ugly circumstances, too). My grandma and her friends used to refer to themselves as "us girls" even in their 70's! |

| @Hirami- Good to know you understand where I'm coming from ![]() @Lissy- That's really cute! My grandma has always been that way too. I feel like that's going to be me.. always calling myself a girl no matter how old I become.

Oh so you're 21? Me too hoho, I don't mind if people will address me as a girl or a lady even if I don't think I'm matured enough to be a lady but I can act one if necessary. I'm still childish even with this age I still watch spongebob on nick haha.

I still watch a lot of cartoons myself. If guys can still play video games at any age, then we should at least be entitled to that. I don't mind if someone were to refer to me as a woman, but coming from my own mind--even thinking it--just doesn't fit right.

I'm 30, and I'm not sure if I should be blurting out those digits...lol , but I still consider myself as a girl...why? Well, in my family there's me and my younger sister. She's also beyond 20 but in the eyes of our dad, who's the only living parent now, he makes us feel like his little girls...but of course, when it comes to serious decision making, we act more maturely and more responsibly. The feeling of being called girl/lady/woman would depend on how you were raised in the family and in how things were handled. What's important is you know how to handle yourself in different occasions and on whose company you are with...In yourself, what do you feel like being called most of the time?

I think I made the transition when I was about 24. I don't call myself a girl now. And I'm 25. But yeah, when I was 21, I definitely wouldn't have to referred to myself as a woman.
