Default Life without a Cell Phone

I cancelled my cell phone service at the beginning of the year, and I've been doing just fine without it. I do miss the convenience of having a phone with me, but I needed to save money, and I didn't talk to a lot of people anyway. Has anyone else given up their cell phone or thinking about it?

We have been thinking about getting rid of our land line, actually. We were getting nothing but unwanted calls on it, so we switched to Magic Jack, getting a new number. As to cell phones, my husband has one, he needs it for work; I don't, and I am perfectly fine without it.

I have just recently let go of mine as well and it doesn't seem to be bad at all. I feel more relaxed knowing that I don't have to be available for everyone at any moment - going back to the basics do feel good sometimes after all.

I've been thinking about it, but I feel so safe knowing I have it in case of an emergency. Funny thing is though, I don't go out much. I just like knowing I have a phone in my pocket at all times. Guess it's like a security blanket for me..

I guess it also depends on how often you leave the house. If I worked outside the home, I would probably want a cell phone as well, it does help to feel more secure since you can always call for help.

If I didn't need a phone for emergencies, then I wouldn't have a phone at all. I'm not the type of person that likes to talk on the phone, and I work from home, so the people that need to contact me the most live in the same place as me.

I can't live without my cellphones. I have to get in touch with my loved ones, especially now that I am away from home.

Well, actually I am not comfortable to have a cellphone. The fact that I can be reached any where and every where make me a bit afraid. But it still need it as it is the only tool I can use to communicate with my friends and relatives. Yes there is Facebook but not all of my friends use internet.

Without a cellphone, I can rely more on the internet to contact people. It's cheaper, and there are several places where you can use the internet for free. I don't have to worry about dropped calls online.

I am just curious, why are you typing 'ma' instead of 'my'? it doesn't save
you any time.

Just try typing on a phone with a qwerty keypad. It will save more time and energy. ;-)
