Default Christmas Gifts

I have decided that I will be buying one present each for my kids this Christmas. In the past years, we have always bought four or five gifts each, but most of the time, they all got tossed aside in less than a month. This time, I will be buying them Netbooks - they will be able to use them for research on their school work and playing online in their spare time.

Have you started your shopping yet?

Netbook is a great gift idea, and I think it is worth several gifts - good choice!

I have started shopping, but I will limit my gift-giving to the closest family due to financial constraints. My husband has asked me what I would like for Christmas, and I told him I want a surprise. We'll see what he does!

Awesome! I won't be giving gifts to everyone this year either. My husband and I promised each other that we wouldn't spend too much for our gifts. As long as the girls are happy, that is already a gift for us both. I hope you'll like your gift

I've never been much of a gift giver on holidays. I buy things for people randomly throughout the year when I hear they want this or that. I want to get my bf something, but I'm not sure what. More than anything, I'm just excited to be spending our first Thanksgiving and Christmas together.

Take him to see a movie, if there is anything in the theaters that you think you both would enjoy. Or buy a DVD with a favorite movie of his. I've bought several DVD's for my husband, he always likes that (of course, they need to be carefully chosen).

Great idea! Thanks! We just went out to a movie today as well as dinner, and that sounds like a plan. We have so much fun together no matter what we do.. My fav is going on long walks with him

This year, I tried something new to help with Christmas. Throughout the year, when I saw something on sale for a really good price. I'd buy it. Then a few days ago, I sat down and figured which person was getting what and now I have at least 50% of all the CHristmas shopping done. Plus it doesn't hit the bank account so hard if you do it throughout the year instead of all in one month.

That's the way my mother in law always does it - buys gifts through the year rather than rush to the store in the last minute. I don't like making last minute gifts either, they are often thoughtless and they cost you more, too.

I am terrible with my christmas shopping. I've thought about what gifts to get everyone, but I have not bought a single thing.

Because we live abroad, I have to buy gofts that won't damade easily, that are small and weigh very little. I have to pack them up into a suitcase and take them on a three hour plane journey you see.

I haven't started shopping for any gifts. This year, we're getting very frugal gifts, things that are reasonably priced. My price range for my mom and brother is between free and about five dollars. Don't laugh, you can find some pretty good stuff for free these days.

Well, I am opposite to you LOL. I am a last minute gift shopper. I know it is not so organized. I just don't want to fill my brain with something I can think of later.

Has anyone been able to find some really good gifts at reasonable prices? For my family, cheap is in, and I'm thinking of getting them something practical.
