How do you feel about Medical Transcription? any body had any idea of this? I have joined in Medical Transcription course as a Trainee a month ago, and it's very interesting and beneficial too, as fr as i heard, share all of your opinion regarding my thread.

I think it's a good way to earn money from home. It may not be for everyone though. I have tried a transcription job, it was non-medical so it was supposedly easy to do - no special training, but I had a terrible time keeping up and catching what people were saying. Some of them speak too fast, and if there is a name or location mentioned - forget it. Maybe it's just me though.

I think this one has a good paying rate. I also want to try it but sometimes it's hard to list down all the instructions. It's kinda embarrassing though if you ask for that person to repeat what he/she just said.

I am currently taking this course for my certification. I know that there are many opportunities online to be taken advantage of with proper skills. Plus, human anatomy and pathology fascinate me. I can't wait to finish to course to actually do my internship.

Do you do sample transcribing as a part of your training? Perhaps listening to recordings and trying to type them up? If you do, do you find it difficult to keep up?

I hear there is a foot pedal that transcribers use to stop and restart the recordings, it's about $70, and some companies require that you have it.

Whoa thats a big amount. If the one speaking is really fast it's really difficult to catch up even if i'm fast at typing when my mind is at rush it's difficult to memorize everything in a flash.
