If you had some money in your savings would you save it or use it to catch up on your debt? Right now I have some money saved and instead of getting deeper in debt, I think that we should use some of our savings to pay for some unexpected purchases. My husband thinks we should charge the purchases and save the money. What would you do? |

I would definitely catch up on debts with that money, especially if any of them are credit cards. Interest rates are off the roof lately and the more you pay towards them, the less damaging they remain.

Pay the purchases and when some money was left, that part should go to the savings.

Always make sure that you have something saved up, but you should definitely try to take care of debt if you had it. Debt can be a very stressful thing, and the faster that you get rid of it, the more at peace you'll feel.
