Since I'm becoming even more frugal with my money, I've decided that I no longer need a landline-based phone, but I don't need my traditional cell phone, either. Now, I've decided that I'll get a pay as you go phone. I don't talk on the phone a lot, and it'll be cheaper. What have you decided to use, a plan or a pay as you go?

I haven't had a landline phone for a longtime now. However, since I use my phone quite often, pay as you go would be quite expensive. Thus, I have a monthly plan with unlimited evening, weekends and text messaging that is very convenient for me at this point in time.

Back when I had a cell phone, we tried pay as you go, but it was getting too expensive. We reluctantly got a cell phone plan for me in college because I had to call home everyday. We didn't call until it was after nine o'clock because it was free then. Now, I don't talk on the phone as much, and pay as you go turns out to be the cheaper option.

I don't use my phone a lot since I'm online all the time anyway (I could just message my friends) so pay as you go works better for me. Cheaper too.

Pay as you go might be a cheaper option but in the long run I still prefer the monthly plans. The longer you stay with the provider, the more perks you get to have for the same price. Plus, since I use the text messaging option even more often than the voice calls, monthly plans work better for me no matter which way I look at it.
