Do you find yourself more self concious about your appearance as you get older? I use to be able to get up and throw my hair in a ponytail and I was good to go. Now that I am older, I find myself more focused on my looks.

I'm almost 21 and I think I'm getting more okay with my looks as the years go on. I think it may be something that goes up and down like a roller coaster as we age, because of all the changes our body goes through. I wish we didn't have to age!!

Lately when I look in the mirror I really don't like what I see. I actually think I am looking at my mother sometimes, it's frightening!

Over the last 12 months I have noticed more lines, wrinkles and saggy bits than ever before. I have even developed a permanent crease down my face that looks like a battle scar.

This reminds me of a joke.

A woman is standing in front of the mirror and is sad and says to her
husband, I am fat, my skin has wrinkles, I look old like my mother.

the husband just nods, the wife says can you say something positive
to cheer me up.

the husband thinks for a minute and says "at least your eyesight is perfect"

Nah, aging is natural. That kind of thinking is a slippery slope. Once you start focusing on your appearance, you forget about all the important stuff. You'll be doing that for the rest of your life. I just try not to look in the mirror.

Its a part of growing up. If you look like your grandmother now, you can't prevent that. What you need to do is to accept the reality that all of us are getting older. Another thing is that you need to take care of your health and skin to look younger.
