Try to apply Lacto-calamine before exposing to sun rays, as the lotion helps in protecting the skin from sun burns, or try to apply lotions or creams containing vit-A,E, & K.

I use a generic lotion for sun protectin, and it works well. And if you do get sun burned, here is a good remedy you can find in most grocery stores: buttermilk. Yes. It might sound like a weird idea, but applying it to the burned areas helps to reduce the pain and speed up healing.
