According to the recent research it is found that the moisturizing creams used worldwide by women contains some ingredients that may cause the deadliest form of skin cancer, the squamous cell carcinoma. This tumor grows slowly, is highly treatable and proves to be fatal only if patients fail to have them removed on time. The scientists suspect the presence of two ingredients to be the culprit behind the development of cancer. They are mineral oil and sodium lauryl sulphate. The experiment was done on the albino mice pretreated with UV light. It is doubtful that they may cause cancer in humans too. So, they developed a product without using these products and that did not develop cancer in mice.

Its amazing how things are found out later, especially when it comes to cosmetics and other beauty products!

Mineral oil and SLS are in so many products. Seriously, consider making your own beauty products or purchasing from small cottage industry suppliers. Also just regular oil works as a great moisturizer. You don't really need all that extra junk. Olive oil on the inside and out.. and you'll be fine.

I first knew that SLS is cancerous from the issue with herbal essences shampoo. lol! Since then, I try not to use products that has it. And then I found out that mineral oil can clog pores and in turn cause pimples so I avoided it as well but i didn't know that it can cause cancer. Thanks for the tip, now I have more reasons not to be swayed to buy those products.

Moisturizers are used on large body surface to maintain the smoothness of the skin and to break the dry skin cycle. Do not change moisturizers often because different creams have different ingredients so some may affect the skin.
