Default Herb Gardens anyone?

Does anyone have an actual herb garden out here? I tend to stuff my herbs in amongst my flowers out in my yard. I love being able to go out with a pair of scissors and just cut away whatever flavor I want! Herbs are so expensive to buy fresh in the stores that a few packs of seeds and a little work is really worth it!! My fave is basil as I love to make home made pesto in the summer!!

I don't have an herb garden.

When I was growing up, my mom had some mint stuff growing outside. It was in the back yard off the patio. Every time she would make sauce, she would send us out to get some of the mint for her. It still is growing there today

I'd like to grow fresh basil.

When I first started gardening I didn't know that mint spread so rampantly so I just tossed peppermint and spearmint seeds out in my garden and I still have mint today too! It's everywhere!! I just pull it from places I don't want it to take over and the rest I just let it be or use it as it smells so wonderful and adds so much to teas and such!

Yes mint does spread very fast and far, so you have to watch out that whenever your planting mint that there is enough space around.

I also remember when I was small at home my parents planted lots coriander, fenugreek, and mint, which we used to pick when it was needed in a dish and yes the smell of mint in your garden is really good.

My garden is a herb garden with a few other plants allowed by special invitation. Most herbs are so easy to grow and I love being able to wander out to choose some herbs when I am cooking. Even weeding isn't such a chore as each time I brush against a herb there is a lovely smell.

I don't have much of a garden at all, so we just grow some mint and corriander and curry leaves in cement pots in our balcony. Although they get too much of sun a times, we have to water them at least twice a day. But even not having a garden the goodness of picky fresh herbs is really nice.

What could be the difference between a herb garden and a vegetable garden? I thought they are the same. Does herb garden includes medicinal plants only? I guess, whether you have herb or vegetable garden, there are no lots of difference, am I right?

I used to have a garden full of herbs in my previous place. I was not able to bring them when we transferred as they were planted on the grounds. I am starting one now. I hope I can get all the varieties back.

I really enjoy growing herbs. I love the smell of them and they taste so much better fresh. I like cooking and it makes it so enjoyable to go out and pick fresh herbs from the garden for the meal that I am preparing.

For me, it's really nice to see plants in your garden. Aside that it beautifies your sorrounding, you also keep in touch with nature. By the way, anybody knows the difference between herb and vegetable garden?
