One of the best advantages of gardening is that you get to enjoy fresh fruits, vegetables and flowers of your own kitchen garden. This is actually a very thing to do as the product is fertilizer free.lol

Ah, yes, the freshness... Go outside, pick some tomatoes, cucumbers, lettuce, parsley, green onion, give it a quick wash and chop it all up into a salad - yum!

I like to grow my own herb garden. Herbs are so expensive when bought. You usually need only a few and most of it goes to the trash. With my own herb garden, I get fresh herbs in just the quantity I need.

That is why I love gardens too! Fresh fruits and veggies. Plus it saves money each week on the grocery bill. I can't believe how expensive fresh, healthy foods are.

We also freeze and can the extras so it's like you have home grown veggies all year!

I am not that good at canning, but I have done some of it, and it is much appreciated in winter time. We also freeze some veggies, green beans are very good for that - they keep well, and when you have cooked them, it is like having cooked fresh beans.

Nothing beats a fresh home grown tomato! Anyone else growing them this year? What variety? I've got some Mortgage Lifters, Yellow Cherry, Glacier and Black Brandywine growing in large pots out in the garden. All of them already have baby tomatoes on them and I almost can't wait to eat them!! I won't buy store bought tomatoes as I'm not keen on the flavor...or lack of it.

We planted some lemon and orange trees this year, so we are hoping we get some fruit for this time next year.

I would love to grow soem veggies but I am not very good at that sort of thing really.

I always get fresh flowers in my garden to decorate my house, and I open the windows at night to let in the scent of jasmine. Got a small vegetable patch too where I can get fresh veggies. Life is good!

We have a big yard behind our house, where we plant many vegetable plants and leafy vegetables, onions, garlic, peas and so many, we don't buy our veggies, instead get them fresh from our garden and cook, flower plants we have in pots in front of our house nicely arranged on the steps, and to tell, we used our garden's onions & garlic for my brother's marriage without buying them.
