My mom HATED when people wore shoes in her house. I have wood floors, so I don't really care. I think having shoes out of my bedroom, where we have carpet, is somewhat necessary, but still not that big of a deal to me.

I grew up wearing slippers in the house, so it's a habit of mine to change into slippers the moment I step through the door. I do it without thinking.

Now that's a great idea. I'm going to move my slippers by the door right now. I just hate going around barefoot, because my feet get cold so easy

Since childhood, my mom made us wear slippers or walk barefooted at home as she hated to cleanup the floors every now & then.
Somehow I retained that habit & now at my home we don't enter the house with our shoes on, besides its also part of our tradition.
p.s. we don't wear any footwear in kitchen though.

In our house, we wore slippers made of cloth. These are really comfortable ones. It doesn't smear our floors, nor it scratches it. A must have for all homes.

I think i should also get one.. Good ones compared to the rubber slippers which am using right now..

I also grew up using cloth slippers in the house. For me it’s normal to wear slippers in my own apartment as well. And I kind of think its polite if you take of your shoes when you enter someone else’s house or apartment, I wouldn’t want to carry in the dirt from outside.
