Default Shoes in the house

Do you keep your shoes on in the house, or take them off? I have my family take their shoes off when they come into the house. I think it keeps the carpets and floors much nicer. What about you?

We don't have carpets because our floor is tiled so we keep our shoes in the house. It does make the floor dirty though but we're used to it already so changing a habit might be hard.

My mom always drove me crazy with having to take my shoes off, so now I don't care. I wipe my feet at the door and leave it at that. I'd rather worry about other things in life than how dirty the rug is.

I have hardwood floors and I like them to stay clean and shiny at all times. I insist that everyone take of their shoes upon entering the house whether it's summer or winter.

Yeah our room is also hardwood so I was thinking of putting a carpet on so no shoes will be in and only socks or fuzzy slippers will be worn inside.

I grew up with the "shoes off - slippers on" rule, and to me, it is something natural and not hard to remember. Right now, the floors in our house are being worked on, but we still change into slippers while in the house. I think it's a good habit to have.

We have tiled floors at home but we wear slippers indoors. I just don't like the idea of wearing shoes all day long. I don't want to walk the streets in my dirty shoes and bring that into the house, I could have trodden in anything!

Yeah especially if it's raining outside our floor is getting muddier and muddier each time we go out and in the house. Good thing it's easy to mop this dirts away.

I usually take my shoes off when I enter. I do not like tracking in dirt and whatever else is on the bottom of my shoes. I do not even like to wear shoes outdoors.

I am used to taking off shoes when i enter my house.. Then i get into a slipper which i use only inside the house.. Taking off shoes which is used outdoors help to keep the floor neat and tidy.. I cant stand when anyone enter the house with shoes or chappals worn outside..
