Red face hCG Hormone - When will it show up?

Hello friends,

I recently got married a month before. I searched for the Fertility calendar online and planned everything properly and IT ALL went very well I really was hoping that I will be pregnant by this month as my periods are skipped (menstrual cycle supposed to start by 10th). I checked using the hCG home urine test kit on 12th morning and found to be negative. My friends told me to wait for a week and see. I hence checked again on 17th. It still is negative

Now, I don't know why is it like this. I am doing the test properly (with the early morning urine sample). My periods used to be regular every month before marriage. This is the first month my period is skipped and the pregnancy test shows negative.

Any idea, how long should I wait for? Or should consult Doctor and take medicine for next month periods? I am so sad because I am not pregnant yet I knew it has just been a month but then I had real high hopes

Hi Dahlia

there is a chance that you might be pregnant , but getting false results with the home kit try changing your test to a more sensitive one .

But there is also the likelihood you haven't concieved yet , and your body is reacting to the changes in your lifestyle , food , place , stress, sleep pattern ect.

you can either test once more or simply get a urine test done at some lab

All the best

Wish it becomes true

Out of curiosity and restlessness, I consulted the doctor yesterday. She advised me to wait till 26th of this month and test it once again using the hCG home kit. If it's positive, she asked me to visit her again. Otherwise, she has suggested me to take pill for next month's periods. I just wish the bloody kit shows positive on 26th morning

Anyways, I will update you guys whatever the result may be.

Thanks

why has she asked you take pills for your next periods ? If you are trying to conceive i think the best option is to let things take a natural course unless you are ok with getting a through check up done.

You have missed just one period and it could be due to various reasons , give your body some time without pumping it with pills and such when you want to conceive in the near future

I do not understand why your doctor didnt ask you to get a urin or a blodd test done as you are already 10 days past your due ... may be you should get a second opinion before you start your pills

Busy Bee,

Thanks for your reply. I was so dumb that I agree to everything my Dr said. After reading your reply, I called her up and told her that one of my friends is asking why do I need pills for next month's periods. The doctor replied me that I should have the periods before I conceive. Only that is healthy it seems. Also, she said she will give me pills for the period. And the actual treatment starts from 5th day of my periods. She said - On the 5th day of my period she will ask me to do a blood test which will tell her what I am lacking (hormone or energy or whatever) and she will give the treatment accordingly to make me conceive.

I am not sure what she is trying to say but then I think she makes a point. She is the only doctor near by our house and has seen 100s of deliveries. So, she can not be wrong, I believe. So, does her answer sounds logic to you? Are you a Doctor as well?

Hi Dahlia

All what she is has said is true , but only if you have been consistently missing your periods ... this is the first periods after your marriage missing it could be due to n number of reasons , most of them simple ones that will rectify by themselves.

I am not a doc ....
I am pregnant currently and have seen enough doctors to know that some tell you things that you need to research on and get a second opinion on before you apply them to your body.

I would suggest you give your body another month before you take pills or any such medication, your body simply could have gone off clock due to the recent changes in your lifestyle.

Give it another month if you aren't pregnant or haven't got your periods by then .... you can think of medication , it isn't a great idea to start on medication simply coz you missed one period when you have had regular periods all your life , especially when you are planning on conceiving right away .It is best not to be on any contraceptive pills for atleast 3-6 months before conception.

where are you located ?

I'm not sure if I've already done so, but I wanted to congratulate you on your pregnancy, Busy Bee!

dahlia84: I'm not sure I fully understand where you doctor is coming from by trying to put you on pills when you are currently trying to conceive. I agree with BB, I would get another opinion just to be safe. Is there any way you can get to another doctor, I know you said that's the only one right there..

Thanks guys, for your advice. I live in South India. Though India is a developing country, the area where I live is not that developed. Besides, she is considered best dr here in my locale. It takes minimum 2 hours from my home to meet another doctor.

I values all your opinions. It means a lot to me. I am going to wait till November 10th and see whether it's positive or not. If not, I should atleast get my periods. If neither of this is happening, I will visit my Doctor again.

Good luck Dahlia. Not to interfere with your decisions or anything
but you have been married only one month. why the hurry to get kids?
Let nature take its course and don't panic till you have been trying
for more than six months.

I also feel that you should wait before taking any kind of pills. You don't want the pills to interfere with your efforts. Just take your time. There's no rush to have children.
