Default Keep Your Skin Looking Great All Winter

Keeping your skin healthy in the winter is not too much different than keeping it healthy other times, it just requires more of certain things in order to help adapt to the changing weather conditions. Winter tends to bring with it low humidity which has the action of drying out your skin. During these conditions you will want to have a more aggressive moisturizing regimen. Take a hot bath to open up your pores, dry off by patting your skin and before you are totally dry, apply your moisturizer of choice, this will help lock in moisture.

While taking your shower or bath, make sure that you exfoliate your skin, if you don’t remove dead or dried out skin cells then the living ones beneath can gain no benefit from your moisturizing program. You should exfoliate at least two times per week. Skin tends to reduce its oil production in the winter which makes your job of moisturizing much more crucial.

Drink water, drink water, drink water. Most people don’t drink near enough water to replenish what is lost through the skin. The Chinese have a remedy that is supposed to not only detoxify your skin but also boost your energy. This is a concoction includes warm water mixed with lemon.

Sleep. Sleeping lets your body replenish itself and get prepared for the upcoming day. Lack of sleep means lack of preparedness which leaves your body and your skin vulnerable to outside conditions.

I want to do this water with lemon but I'm afraid lemon will ruin my teeth. It's acid after all. I'm really torn on what to do.

Lemon won't harm your teeth, as I eat lemons like any other citrus fruits and my teeth are perfect. This is just my personal experience though, so, I just want to point out that what I just mentioned is not medical opinion.

I have heard somewhere that drinking water to keep skin healthy is a myth and a good skin is a boon. It comes with heredity. Have I got it correct?

you can try by drinking very little water for a few weeks.

genetic experiments are a bit more difficult

1.Give ’Em Lip Service
Use a lip sunscreen with SPF agent even if you’re putting lipstick on, too.
2.Remember Hair Care
The beating sun will hit your hair hard, but there are a number of sprays containing SPF that you can put on after you wash your hair. This is a must if your tresses has been chemically treated.
Another tip: Don’t overwash your hair as this can remove the oils that naturally protect it.
3. Exfoliate Head to Toe
Expensive scrubs and salts feel wonderful, but if you’re on a budget, you can do just as good a job using an exfoliation mitt or glove and your regular body wash. Gentle exfoliation is essential if you’ve had any area waxed, particularly in the bikini area, as it can help prevent ingrown hairs.
4. Moisturize and Nourish With Oils
Elbows, feet, and ankles can get very dry, so try avocado oil to keep them healthy and smooth. Avocado oil not only moisturizes, but also has nourishing properties as it contains vitamin E.
5. Be Kind to Your Face
Chemical peels, creams, scrubs, and other products containing glycolic acids and retinoids should not be used if you spend a lot of time in the sun: These treatments can make your skin more sun sensitive and cause more damage to your skin.
