At home we often cook cucumber, inspite of throwing the inside seeds, collect them in a bowl add little sugar, keep in refrigerator for an hour, take out and apply on your face, let it stay till it is dried, wash with cool water, it gives freshness to the face in dry skin & it has cooling effect too.

Good tip, but I dont really cook cucumbers and haven't really heard of cucumbers being cooked. I generally eat the seeds as they are in the cucumbers and never de-seed cucumbers.

What do you mean different from what we eat? Is there any sort of cucumbers made only for facial care? I thought those regular cucumbers that we also eat here is fine.

| There are no cucumbers made specially for facials, there are types of cucumbers which can be cooked & can be eaten directly as salads, they help in giving cooling effect in various manner.

I was not aware that you could cook cucumbers; in fact, this is the first time I have ever heard about it. Plus, I eat the cucumbers with the seeds. I am not quite sure why they have to be removed and frankly, I wonder, since the seeds take up most of the cucumbers, isn't it kind of a waste to just use the rest?

| inside the cucumber there are seeds which can be collected very easily along with that you'll get juice like think, you can apply that. And always think that there are various types of cucumbers not one, cucumders family is very big, there are cucmbers which can be eaten raw ones and some to be cooked.

I think Kantha is talking about the gourd family. I think specifically Kantha is talking about the bottle gourd and calling it cucumber. -F |

OK, I got to the bottom of this confusion. You are talking about dosakaya? This is available in Andhra and is probably not known by people outside Andhra. By default the only cucumbers seen by most of us is the slender green ones that are eaten raw/salads. OK Here's a picture to help you. Also has the seeds part that Kantha mentioned. |
