Default Laser Eye Surgery.

My husband has worn glasses for the whole of his adult life and would really like to have Laser/Lasik eye surgery.

Has anyine had experiences (good or bad) with this surgery, or know someone who has?

My sister had this surgery years ago. She had very thick glasses all of her life. She walked out of that surgery glasses free!
After about 5 or so years, she had to get reading glasses.

Default Laser Eye Surgery.

The main advantage of laser surgery is freedom from wearing glasses or contact lenses. Most of the eye doctors are recommending it because of improved vision after laser surgery.

My ex-boyfriend had the laser eye surgery six years ago and he is absolutely amazed with it to this day. His recovery was quick and he never had any problems during or after the surgery. He recommends it to everyone who has vision problems.

It's amazing how a person who has worn eye glasses all his life can have the chance to have 20/20 vision after lasik surgery. I have friends who had successful operations. But I have one former classmate whose surgery went wrong. Instead of getting clear vision...slowly his eye sight deteriorated more each day.

I've known one person, so not sure how much this helps, but apparently, they had to go back in and got their eyes touched up because it kept getting worse. But, this person had REALLY bad eyes. I've heard mostly good stories about it. My eye sight isn't TERRIBLE but I've been wanting to do it for a while. At the same time, I'm soooo scared, cuz I don't wanna go blind lol....

Laser treatment for eye is the best treatment. Find a good surgeon for your treatment. They are good because no loss of blood and no much stitches and you can go home next day.. and its easy to maintain too, whereas the conventional method have lot of blood loss, need more care.

ya.. laser surgery is the best way to do surgery for eyes. Because eyes are very sensitive and it requires a lot of precision and high resolution of action. So laser surgery does it. with no blood loss and no pain.

You mean 5 years later after the surgery, your sister had to wear reading glasses again?

How long has it been after the surgery?

Sounds great. But after reading some posts here of treatments that went wrong, I'm not sure if I still want to have one.

All I can say is, really take a long time to think about it. This is your EYES we're talking about!! I mean, look into the risks, talk with doctors, or whoever would do it for you.. make sure you ask more than one. Also, talk to just regular doctors. Get a bunch of opinions and please be careful. The thought of doing this is really scary to me!!! I can't help but think about the what ifs, you know?

Take care, and PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE give it a LONG LONG thought before jumping into this. This could change your life forever.. I mean, most likely in a good way, but I'm not sure....

Thumbs up

One of the truly remarkable benefits of Laser eye surgery is that most Laser patients experience dramatically improved vision within mere moments of the procedure. While ideal visual acuity may take up to six months to achieve, it is very common for patients to demonstrate near-perfect vision during their follow-up examinations the very day after Laser surgery, and to immediately discontinue the use of glasses or contact lenses.
