Are you talking about prescribed ones or the normal colored ones? Well there is nothing as serious, but the fact that they should not be worn for prolonged hours. Always get guidance from the optician on how to insert the lenses and practice in front of them too. Another very important point to remember is put them the saline solution after use and use a new solution every time. |

Wear them according to the advice of your optician. I remember when I brought my daughter in to get contacts. She had begged and begged me to get them so I took her in to the eye doctor. He prescribed them for her, but then gave her a huge speech about proper care and also not wearing them every day. He told her that her eyeballs would rot out of her head if she didn't follow his instructions. I'm sure he was exaggerating for effect, but it worked.

hi, How to maintain your lenses # Don't leave your lenses lying around. When not in use, store them in the appropriate container with the cleaning solution. A dusty atmosphere and chemical fumes may damage your lenses, if they are left uncovered. # Utmost hygiene must be maintained as contact lenses come into direct contact with your eyes. Always wash your hands before you handle your lenses. # Daily sterilisation of your lens is a must for soft lens users. Sterilisation refers to cleaning of the lenses with the prescribed cleaning solution, which are sold along with the lenses. # Clean the lenses daily ONLY with a cleaner prescribed by your doctor. Regular water must not be used for this, as it is not sterile and may damage the lenses. # Change the storage fluid daily. If the cleaning solution or the storage fluid is unclean, or the container is dirty, this may damage the lenses and, in turn, your eyes. ____ zen |

I think you will love them. People tend to run into trouble when they wear the contacts all of the time. If you want to be cautious why not where glasses part of the time and lenses at other times. That will be cheaper too as you will be able to double the recommended time period. A word of warning. If you take any prescribed medications you may want to check as to whether they reduce the moisture in your eyes. If so, you can get drops to use that helps retain the moisture. This may sound weird??? Well it is actually. Get used to what your eyes and under your lids look like. My optometrist told me how he has had numerous people pass out when they try to insert the lenses. Wear Trousers just incase!! Just Kidding. Don't be afraid just use them appropriately. |

I have had contacts since April and I love them! At first it was hard for me to get them in my eyes in the morning, but now they go in so easily. I love not having to wear my glasses to see! I have found no disadvantages. |
