Post how to Make eye shadows?

How to make Eye shadows?

What you need?
1.White beeswax- 4%
2.spermaceti wax- 9%
3.Lanolin- 15%
4.mineral oil-72%
5.Color system: Iron oxide- 30%
Titanium oxide- 5%
Method: Melt 1,2 & 3 (base). Add premixed, triturated color system in mineral oil. Add into melted base & triturate well.

note: Add proper proportion of color system, Titanium oxide gives covering/opaque property so add proper amount. Store in well closed container. Use within 2 weeks as no preservatives are added. Triturate properly wherever specified or will give inconsistent product.

Does this eyeshadow works? What is the difference of this homemade eye shadow compare to commercial one?

The ingredients stated above is kinda hard to find here so I'm sticking to the ready made one although I still find it hard to mix and match some colors for the shades. I always end up putting a light one which doesn't look like I placed an eyeshadow.

I have made this at home, this is one of the basic formula from the "bible of cosmetic formulation" book. Every thing will work out good if you follow GMP (good manufacturing practices) & by use of quality ingredients.

As I said before, yes it works. The differences in commercial ones are that they are tested for quality assurance which they basically need it as they produce in large scale. Commercial shadow formulas are tweaked to suit their production but the basic idea is same.
Although I suggest that skin sensitivity test must be done before you use any cosmetic product, just as we do before applying hair dye.

what is GMP
Basically it means that whatever ingredients you use are standard quality, the equipments are properly cleaned & all other parameters are taken care of which will give you a clean/sterile (Quality)product.

You seriously make your own eye makeup? I think it would be much easier to just buy it from the store. I guess if you have sensitive skin it would be best to make your eye makeup so you know the ingredients.

That seems like it would be very time consuming. I'm not sure I could get myself to do it. I'm pretty lazy lol

A great way to ensure that your skin remains flawless.....
yet I am sure the sperm whales would rather have their sperm oil that have their heads bashed up for your great skin

Maybe if spermaceti wax could be replaced it would be a more humane eye shadow

Jojoba oil is used as alternative to spermaceti wax. I apologies for simply sharing the book knowledge without considering mass feelings. I had performed this practical in college 3 years back so I didn’t remember that we also had substituted Spermaceti wax.
