Like our skins, the greatest enemies of our eyes is the sun. UV rays can damage our eyes...so my basic tip is wear sunglasses whenever you are going out especially on a sunny day...

Oh so true, just try staring at the sun without any sunglasses then right after a minute your vision will be just dark and blurry. It's painful and annoying too.

I've heard that if you stare at the sun long enough, you can actually go blind, though I don't know how true that is. I try to avoid looking at it. And I always have my sunglasses on bright, sunny days!

It can be true just staring at it for a minute makes me feel blind already. I can't stand the heat and the light of it going directly to my eyes.

Another bad one is spending too long infront of a computer monitor.

If you do a lot of work on a computer you need to give your eyes regular breaks by focusing your point of attention onto something else.

Yeah but it can't be helped sometimes. My eyes are always exposed to PC everyday. I always take some break like an hour or so.

Dirt and debris is also a big enemy to our eyes. Once we get something in our eyes, it's sometimes really difficult to get out. Left alone, it can lead to irritation.

My mom always told me to never look directly at the sun, because it damages your eyes. Well, I used to do it all the time just cuz I knew I wasn't supposed to. Now, I have really bad eyes and can barely read/see too far in front of me clearly without glasses. I wonder if that's really what messed mine up..

Another enemy of our eyes are dust. It irritates our eyes and if you rub your eyes more often, it might get infected. Our best guard is to wear sunglasses and best remedy, a cold wash after exposure to dust.
