It is not advisable by doctors to wear lens for more than 6 hours but it can be dangerous for your eyes. Sometimes it may lead to scratches in the eye. Also it is necessary to keep the lens wet and clean with the help of lotion.

I use contacts myself and what you said is completely true. But i think you can keep them in for 8 hours especially if they are the 'breathable' lenses.
You should never sleep in them though. It may be harmful like it can get stuck to the inside of you eyelid. They have to be then carefully removed.

I was told by my eye doctor that I can wear my contacts over night. I would never do that, but he said that they can be worn for 24 hours at a time. Maybe it depends on the kind you have.

Lense is not advised by most of the doctors. If used proper care should be there.

My friend is using contact lense. she is having eye infection frequently.
Doctors advise is remove the contact lense during night time. Dip them in solution for alteast 6 hours daily. Properly clean the lense by the solution before next wear.

People with higher vision problem can go for contact lens rather using bulky glasses. But for some persons the contact lenses will create irritation, allergy to the eyes. So be conscious in using contact lens.

What do you think will happen to you if you forgot to remove your lenses? I am actually afraid to have this, because their are times that I feel so--died tired and to sleep is all in my mind and forgot that I have lenses that needs to be remove.

Lenses on your eyes needs proper lubrication. If your planning to put it for more than 8 hours, you need to put artificial tears as lubricant. This way, lens will not scratch your eyeballs which will lead to more and complicated problems. Also, you don't need lenses when you sleep, what for?

ask your doctor....there are actually many lenses out that are approved for overnight wear...i used to wear contacts for 30 days and 30 nights without taking them out and I only got an infection if I left them in for longer than that... i slept in them all the time

I agree on that. I got irritated with my contact lenses because I have worn them almost 8 hours everyday.

you might get an eye infection...sometimes the contact lens gets too dry so it's so hard to take it off and you might get corneal abrasion...

I used to wear contacts every day and I found is REALLY hard to remember to take them out. I've slept in them SOOOO many times, and let me tell you.. it does NOT feel good. Your eyes get all dry and it's kinda hard to get em out.. everything's kinda cloudy looking.

I found it easiest to remember when I set an alarm on my cell phone that literally said to TAKE THEM OUT!!!!!!!!

There are different kinds of lenses. Some contact lens could be dispose daily, weekly or monthly. But of course, after every use, you really have to take it off. Your eyes need rest. Do you think there would be a brand of contact lens that could be use overnight?

i never had a eye problem so i never know about it. I thought contact lenses are easy to maintain. I thought its not required to take it out for many days. But this information is good to me and informative.

I'm pretty sure I remember my mom having a kind of lense that you could leave in for an entire month, but I think there was a specific reason she had to get those kind. I think she had a special case or something. I dunno.. to me, it sounds like bad news, cuz your eye needs proper oxygen

Yes.. i think you would be provided with a kit, if you purchase a contact lens. The Kit will have all necessary things for your lens to get clean and the lotion for putting the lens in to maintain the moisture and make it wet. So it is to be used.
